“Many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, ‘He told me everything I ever did.’ So when they came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days. And many more believed because of His word. They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.’”
John 4:39–42
The story of the Samaritan woman at the well is one of the most powerful testimonies in Scripture. She wasn’t someone the world would have chosen to carry such a message. She was an outcast. Rejected. Wounded. Divorced multiple times. Perhaps she had whispered more than once, “God, where are You?”
And yet, Jesus revealed Himself to her. Not to the religious leaders. Not to the crowd in the synagogue. But to a broken, searching woman who needed to know she was seen and loved.
When He told her, “I am He” the Messiah.. everything changed. It was as if He was saying: “I see you. I know you. I love you. And I have come for you.”
That encounter with Jesus was so life changing that she couldn’t keep it to herself. She left her water jar behind and ran to tell others. Her testimony led an entire village to meet the Savior. Some first believed because of her words. Others only believed after they heard Jesus for themselves. But all of it started with her story.
And that’s the beauty of a testimony. When you encounter Jesus, His living water flows through you and it’s impossible to stay silent. You want others to experience the same love, hope, and freedom you’ve found.
Never underestimate the power of your story. Your testimony may be the spark that leads someone else to seek Him. They may not believe right away. They may need to see for themselves. But when they do, they will come to know: This is indeed the Savior of the world. 🙌🏼
So, what’s your testimony?
